Interest-free down payment loans still available to low-income and moderate-income families. Interested households must apply for the program through a mortgage lender after receiving approval for a first mortgage.
In order to qualify, applicants must provide five percent of the purchase price as a down payment and complete an approved homeownership course. A home inspection is also required.
Loans will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to apply. $380,000 in Federal HOME funds have been allocated for the program.
